We had a busy, awesome week of learning!
International Night was wonderful! Happy so many came to see the variety of countries represented at our school! Thank you to Carson's mom for yummy donuts for Carson's birthday! Dates and things to remember: Library on Monday-please return books Standards to learn next week: Math: subtracting two, three digit numbers (great on the addition!) Reading: Folktales and fairy tales from different authors Writing: apply our opinion writing to books and typing the report(s) Language: Phonics-unit 27 (prefixes) Don’t forget all units of spelling can be seen and practiced from www.spellingcity.com Go to the Tritt website, second grade to find it easily. Social Studies: Georgia Hero: Martin Luther King Jr. STEM: This week the project was how to decorate our classroom door to support the FALCONS! Rise up! They did! Science: Sun, Moon, Stars In the TTF’s Science Lab this month Mr. Giunta has been working with our students on the orbit of the sun. They built shadow trackers with card stock and used the Skyview App to record the sun’s movement throughout the day. Next week they’ll graph the data before we get starting on the phases of the moon. Get more details on Mr. Giunta’s blog! Keep smiling! Mrs. Gentry
